How to
Using 2.5mm needles and Alternate Cable cast-on method, cast on 128 [144, 160] sts.
Join in the round, being careful not to twist sts. Place stitch marker to indicate start of round.
Brim
Rnd 1: *K1, P1; rpt from * to end
Rnd 2: *S1, P1; rpt from * to end
Repeat these 2 rounds until brim measures 1.5 [1.75, 2] in/3.75 [4.5, 5] cm, or desired length, ending after a Rnd 2. Change to 2.75mm needles and work increase round once as follows:
Inc Rnd: *K2, M1; rpt from * to end [192, 216, 240 sts]
Body
Rnd 1: Knit all sts
Rnd 2: *K1bl, P1; rpt from * to end
These 2 rounds form the fisherman's rib pattern. Work in pattern until body measures 3 [3.25, 3.5] inches/7.5 [8.25, 9] cm, excluding the brim.
