‘Rachis’ means central axis or shaft, and I reckon that’s a pretty cool word for describing what happens within this design. Thank you Connie for suggesting it - I’ll be in touch shortly to thank you!

There’s been a lot of interest in this design, and I mean a LOT, so I’m planning to make this the first release of the coming season, around August time. I will of course be posting about it here and on social media, and members of The Woolly Hat Society will get a member-exclusive discount in the newsletter.

Thank you all so much for the brilliant name suggestions! There’s a few that caught my eye, it was hard to choose, so I’ve added a few of the suggestions to my list of potential names - and I’ll be thanking the folks who suggested those with surprise copies of the pattern!
