Description
Tea Cozy is a beanie Hat with a hole for a ponytail. The hole is set up from the head, like a short tube, and has an I-cord as a drawstring. The Hat has a ribbed brim and is otherwise worked in stocking stitch throughout.

How to
Using Alternate Cable cast-on for 2x2 rib, cast on 72 [80, 84] sts
Join in the round, being careful not to twist sts.
Place st marker to indicate start of round.
Brim
Now work for the brim by knitting 2x2 rib (K2, P2) every round for 2 in/5 cm (or desired length)
Body
Change to stocking stitch and knit every round until work measures 6 [6.5, 7] in/15 [16.5, 18] cm from cast-on edge.
22in size only: *K38, K2tog; rpt from * to end [78 sts]
Crown
Small size jump to Rnd 3, Medium size jump to Rnd 2, Large size start at Rnd 1.
Rnd 1: *K12, K2tog; rpt from * to end [78 sts]
Rnd 2: *K11, K2tog; rpt from * to end [72 sts]
Rnd 3: *K10, K2tog; rpt from * to end [66 sts]
Rnd 4: *K9, K2tog; rpt from * to end [60 sts]
Rnd 5: *K8, K2tog; rpt from * to end [54 sts]
Rnd 6: *K7, K2tog; rpt from * to end [48 sts]
Rnd 7: *K6, K2tog; rpt from * to end [42 sts]

Work plain stocking stitch for a further 2 in/5cm. Cast off all sts.
Drawstring
Cast on 3 sts.
Work I-Cord for around 20" or as long as you fancy. Thread through eyelets and gather up.
Finishing
Weave in all ends. A gentle wash and blocking is recommended.
