GRAFTING GERMAN SHORT ROWS IN GARTER STITCH the one thing I really like about grafting German short rows is that they're a lot easier to graft than wrap & turn short rows - simply treat the double stitch as one stitch when grafting, just as you would when knitting across it! It also doesn't matter whether the GSR are one the front or back needle, as they're easily visible and there's less of an issue about RS vs WS. This is ridge high garter graft - insert needle into 1st stitch on front needle knit-wise, pull through & slip off; insert needle into 2nd stitch purl-wise, pull through & leave on. Repeat on the back needle (garter graft = do same on back needle as front). I'm going to be doing a lot of this over the coming weeks! Garter stitch grafting. Treat front & back needles the same: knit, off, purl, on. This is what I call ridge-high garter - you can download a more indepth tutorial from my website as a PDF, which shows you how to set this up (illustrations are also in all of my patterns that need this technique) #woollywormheadtutorials #knittingtutorial
