I’ve recently started working with a new French translator and we’re hoping to find some French speakers who would be willing to help us ensure the translations are clear and read like a Woolly Wormhead pattern.

You don’t need to have knit all or many of my patterns, but you do need to be familiar with them, the premium patterns in particular. You also don’t need to worry about buying the patterns we’ll check with - I’ll make sure you get an English-language copy! As a thank you for helping us I’ll gift you, or a friend if you prefer, a copy of one of my eBooks of your choice.

We’ll hold the discussions in Slack, as that’s where the team works in general, and I’ll set up a group just for this so it won’t be too overwhelming. If you’ve not used Slack before it’s easy to set up an account, and there’s in-browser, desktop and mobile versions. It’s got a fairly good range of accessibility features and while it’s not perfect, it’s better than most platforms. Most importantly we can chat and share details in private, and feedback directly to myself and my translator.

If you’re interested in helping us improve the French translations and reach even more knitters, please either leave a comment below - and make sure your email address is in the relevant field, which will remain private - or email me through the Contact Form. If you email you’ll get my auto-responder so please don’t worry about that! But do title your email ‘French Speaker’ or ‘French Pattern Tester’ or words to that effect so your email doesn’t get lost. I’ll then send folks a Slack invite and we’ll take it from there.
