An error was recently found in the Filigree Slouch pattern. It was in the written instructions only, and in the 15in, 19in and 23in sizes only - all of the other instructions are correct.

The file has been updated on Etsy, Payhip, LoveCrafts and Ravelry - you should have received an update notice in your Ravelry library and for the other platforms you can go back to your original download link and get a new copy.

Where on Rnd 28 it said:
P2, T2B, P3, T2F, P14

it should say:

P2, T2B, P3, T2F, P13

Errors don’t crop up often in my patterns, at all, but now that my patterns are available on a growing number of platforms, including print once again, I’ve been trying to work out the best way to let everyone know. Especially as not all the platforms provide an option of letting customers know automatically.

Going forward I think blog posts are a good option - they’re public and I think it’ll be possible to link to errata posts from a product page on the new site.

I also think it’ll be really good to have a section in the newsletter for The Woolly Hat Society, too.

Not just for pattern errata but, say, I update one of the new downloadable tutorials then I’m going to need to find a way to let folks know that there’s even a revised file, let alone why - as they’re downloaded via a link within the patterns rather than directly from any one platform.

The new downloadable tutorials have all been through rigorous editing so I’m not expecting errata but there will no doubt be times when I want to extend a tutorial by adding in something extra that you can do with it, y’know? For instance I’ve just extended the new tutorial for Joining Live Stitches by adding in a section that shows how to increase within that technique. These tutorials aren’t live yet so this is just an example, but it’ll be cool to find a way to let folks know. And I think the newsletter is the best place for that - I can add a standard feature to the template.

With this latest revision you’ll see Filigree Slouch is in the shiny new layout! The download links are temporary, as going forward they’ll be hosted on the new site, and the files themselves aren’t the final versions as they’ll all be getting updated black and white photos. Yet the ISBN is in, as is the new printer friendly layout with separate pages for the charts.

I’m going to talk about this more at length in the near future, but the vast majority of my charted patterns will be fully charted - meaning the pattern can be worked independently from the chart page, and the chart itself gives a much clearer idea of the pattern as a whole. Doing this has been the bulk of the reformatting work but I’m really chuffed with how it all looks and the benefits it provides.
