I'm loving all the kooky name suggestions on my last post! Please keep 'em coming - I'll leave it open for a while longer yet, and a fair few names are needed, so there'll be several selected.

Since sharing the news that I was changing publisher, and sadly no longer working with Arbour House, the race has been on to get my books reformatted and back into print. These are now being published with Create Space, the Amazon owned print-on-demand company, and Going Straight is the first proof to arrive.

I'm pretty pleased with how the book looks, and was happy to approve the review copy. The cover is shinier than previous editions, and the paper ever so slightly finer. Other than that, the only issue with POD is that each time a book is printed, the colour may be ever so slightly different. But there's nothing I can do about that - it's simply the way small print runs are.

The other big change, apart from all the new charts, is that this 3rd edition is 8" x 10", where previous editions were 8.5" x 11". This was done to enable distribution through the Amazon channels, and it'll be interesting to see how that works out. Over the years I've learnt that each POD publisher and each printer has different size preferences, and CS are no exception.

So, for those of you who have been waiting to purchase a copy, you can! It's available for sale directly through my Create Space store, which is also linked from the book's web page. The book can also be found on Amazon.com (and will appear on other Amazon's in next few weeks) It's fantastic to be able to have the book show up on Amazon, though the downside is that royalty payments are much lower; Amazon takes a huge chunk for the privilege. Royalties through Create Space are much higher, hence that being the main outlet linked.

Talking of Amazon... I'd be eternally grateful for a review or two! It doesn't matter whether you've bought the digital version or have an older print edition, your review would really help the book get noticed. Amazon is an absolute minefield, and the book will need all the help it can get.

Also... any stores, especially those in the US, who maybe interested in stocking Going Straight can now contact me directly. One of the upsides of this particular POD service is that the reasonable cost of printing leaves a little room for wholesale. Yey!

The proofs for Wee Woolly Toppers and Twisted Woolly Toppers were ordered before GS, but haven't arrived yet. I can't wait to see WWT - that's had a bit of a facelift, too :)
