Bias-knit garter stitch creates a spiral of colour sweeping around the head to a four-pointed crown. Short rows, provisional cast-on and a Kitchener stitch finish (tutorials provided) ensure a perfect, seamless fit in four sizes.

Vortice’s angled garter ridges are perfect for taming a wild sock yarn; try it in a gradient set or use a mix of scraps to create bold colour wedges.

Available either as a single pattern or as part of the Painted Woolly Toppers collection.
