Recently, one of my valued test knitters lost her fight with Crohns Disease. Many of you will have known her as 'Lnupermom' on the Ravelry forums; Lynn was such a helpful member that I don't doubt you would have seen her posting, offering advice to help other knitters. We're all very sad to lose Lynn, and at such a young age.

Another of my test knitters, and probably the one knitter who's knit more of my Hats than anyone else, is running an auction to raise funds for a Chrohns charity. If you frequent the Wormheads Hats forum on Ravelry then you'll know Cottonon, one of our brilliant moderators. In conjunction with Babylonglegs, who kindly donated yarn, Cottonon has knitted a QL Slouch (a pattern test knit by Lynn) in Semi-Precious 4ply (a favourite yarn around here) in a bright lime green - a favourite colour of Lynn's. This gorgeous Hat is now being auctioned, along with another skein of Babylonglegs yarn.

If you'd like to read more details about this Hat, click over to read Cottonon's project page.

If you'd like to bid on this Hat+yarn bundle, click over to the relevant thread.

If you'd like to contribute by buying a pattern, I'm donating all proceeds of the QL Slouch pattern through to the end of July.

Lynn didn't only test knit for me; she also worked for good chum and fellow designer, Michelle Miller. Michelle is also offering the proceeds of her Tree and Arbour Wrap pattern through to the end of July.

If you'd like to donate directly, please consider one of these two charities:

http://www.ccfa.org/ (US based charity; Lynn was from the US)

http://www.nacc.org.uk/content/home.asp (UK based charity)

Lynn will be missed. Our thoughts are with her family.

ETA Thank you everyone for helping to raise funds for Crohns Disease! Today, 2/8/2012, I made a donation of $157.89 (£105.26) from the sale of 38 copies of QL Slouch (less PayPal fees). Thank you also to the many kind and generous folk who bid on the completed QL Slouch+BabyLonglegs skein; a further £55 ($82.50) was raised.
