Having been brought up on written knitting instructions, I've always defended them in the age old written versus chart argument. Now though, since I got the chart writing software, I've been designing all new patterns on charts as it's a heck of a lot easier.

Then (thought I'd never say this. Ever) I got to thinking that if the new book was chart only, it'd be stacks easier on space and far easier to edit. Essentially I'd like to have both..... but if I had to choose only one, my preference has changed.

Would it be really evil to have charts only? Even if I made them *really* clear?

Please tell me what you think!

When it comes to knitting patterns do you prefer:-

A chart with symbol key
Full written instructions
Neither, either way is cool.
