Especially like this one. Oh yeah.. this, so far, is a good saturday.
Firstly, Steve a vinyl collector, drove down to have a perusal through my collection. He's bought a few today and earmarked some more to buy at a later date. I'm £100 richer. Rock on!
Secondly, this little lot came in the post today - parcels are always a treat!
These are two booklets containing instructions for mathematical patterns by Pat Ashforth and Steve Plummer. Each one contains 12 patterns, all rather funky and interesting. Mostly knitted, some for crochet, and they even include basic techniques for both. The way the patterns are created fascinates me, and can't wait to get making a few. They are designed for cushions, squares, but reckon I could adapt them for either the blanket or larger. I fancy felting them, actually... The instructions are clear and colourful, and they claim any level of knitter can make them , even beginners. Pat is also a member of UKHK, so a big 'hello & thanks' going out in that direction! Now, wouldn't you agree that I need colourful yarns to make these? That's what I thought (any excuse) so the shopping list for Ally Pally has grown again.
And thirdly, I sat and cut up the wood dowelling and marked out the base of the peg-loom this morning. As I type, Tom is drilling away (he's so content) Will post full instructions with photos for how to make the loom later. Why can't every day be as good as this?
