Teaching & Workshops
As a fully qualified and experienced teacher & lecturer of Art, Design & Textiles, I am able to offer a number of knitting workshops.
Teaching Background: My main degree is in Textile Art, having graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London, in 1999. From there, I achieved my teaching post grad (PGCE) in Art & Design at Goldsmiths, and spent a number of years teaching in mainstream schools, covering all areas of the creative curriculum but with a specialism in fashion, textiles and sculpture. I organised and taught extra curricular life drawing classes, as well as mini workshops in constructed textiles (knitting and weaving). Prior to my time at Goldsmiths College, I studied Industrial Textiles at Bolton University as well as a number of other shorter qualification courses, including pattern cutting and lacemaking.
Workshops: As a professional teacher, all workshops are thoroughly planned and printed handouts are provided. Currently I am happy to provide the following workshops:
- Hat Design workshop
- Turning Sideways
- Reversible Cables
- Increases & Decreases
- Cast-on & Cast-off techniques
An outline of each course and my current rates can be downloaded below.
Please contact me should you wish to discuss any of these details further.
