Using an adapted version of the ‘seafoam’ stitch this Hat takes on a soft and drapey form. Marina is perfect for those with big hair or dreadlocks, or for anyone wanting the slouchy look!

The pattern includes two versions of the Hat - rasta version (not shown) and slouchy beanie version (shown). A photographic tutorial for the grating technique is also included.

Sizes:

  • To fit size: 19/20 (21/22, 23/24) inches, 48.25/51 (53.25/56, 58.5/61) cm

  • Rasta version (not shown):
  • Finished size: 16 (18, 20) inches, 40.5 (45.75, 51) cm

  • Beanie version (shown):
  • Finished size: 16 (18.25, 20.5) inches, 40.5 (46.25, 52) cm

Materials:

  • 100g/175m/191yds Araucania Aysen OR 100g/198m/216yds Malabrigo Merino Worsted
  • Pair of 4.5mm straight needles
  • Approx. 2m waste yarn
  • Gauge 20sts x 26rows to 10cm/4” over Stocking Stitch , 20sts x 28rows to 10cm/4” over Garter Stitch

  • Knit and purl stitches
  • Provisional cast-on
  • Kitchener stitch
  • Short rows (w&t)
  • Ladder stitch/yarnovers
