Having never organised a blog tour for any of my books, it seemed like the ideal thing to try and help promote the book. It's taking a lot more time than I imagined to organise and co-ordinate, yet I'm pretty sure it will be worth it.
A blog tour is a way for a book to travel the interwebs collecting reviews, interviews, thoughts and feedback, reaching new and different audiences. Each poster has a different perspective and personally I find reading the various posts on a tour interesting; everyone has something else to add to the dialogue.
In my mind, the perfect blogger to start the tour is Just Call Me Ruby. Not only is a she a friend and fellow designer, who was also a teacher of Art and Textiles in a previous life just like myself, but she's also my publisher. We've developed a great working relationship and friendship, and I couldn't think of a better person to introduce the book and tour. You can read her wonderful post here.
The tour will be visiting some amazing designers, knitters, editors and authors, and here is the current line up with dates:
The dates, as with all other information for the book, can be found on the books' page here. Some of the dates may change, and we may have other bloggers and designers joining us, so do follow along and see what everyone has to say - I'm sure it will be fun as well as informative!
And don't forget - the book will be officially launched at the 'Make Do and Knit' event in just over a weeks time. I'm really looking forward to it, especially as I'll be popping back just for the occasion.
It's all very exciting... a blog tour, a proper book launch... it's making me feel like a 'real' author!
